Louise has worked in the affordable housing sector for 17 years, having joined Woodspring District Council as a trainee after graduating from Swansea University in 1990. In 1993, an opportunity arose to work on the fledgling enabling role, and for the next 14 years Louise worked to deliver the Councilís strategic enabling functions. Her post graduate degree in Housing Studies was the foundation for a very varied knowledge base, but it is in affordable housing development that her passion, knowledge and experience lay. Having been brought up in rural Somerset the issue of affordable housing in rural areas has always been one of the most important areas of the enabling role for Louise. In October 2007, she joined English Rural as Regional Development Manager for the South West as an opportunity to actively deliver affordable homes in villages and influence the rural housing agenda.
